WHAT DOES THE CONVICTION OF ERAP REALLY MEANS? PDF Print E-mail

First of all, let me congratulate the Sandiganbayan and the Supreme Court, not for the decision rendered but for the way they handled the proceedings.

Unlike some morons here who suggested that it be not covered by media, the SC rightfully allowed media coverage of the event. The Sandiganbayan, on its part, rid the proceeding of time-consuming reading of how the decision was arrived at and just gave a very short summary of the case, the outcome of which is already expected by pro-Erap groups and much awaited by the anti-Erap crowd.

Actually, Erap was already convicted the moment he was ousted from Malacanang. The conspiracy emanated from there and ended up yesterday to complete the grand design to justify the occupation of Malacanang of the fake president.

Anybody who expected an acquittal is hallucinating and should be sent to a mental hospital. An acquittal means that we are all fakes for having a fake government all this time. So, to avoid that imbroglio Erap has to bear the brunt and save us Filipinos from embarrassment in the international community.

But did his conviction project a positive image for the country in the international scene? I doubt. How can it be positive when people abroad knows that Erap should be accompanied by Greedy Arroyo to jail for committing the worse crime of cheating and lying to the people? How can it be positive when the Jose Pidals, the Bolantes, the Venable and EZT contract, the Garci tapes remain an outstanding and unsettled issues up to this day? Positive my xxx

I see the conviction will only deepen the great divide in our society that started since the downfall of Marcos. Forget reconciliation that’s a worn-out empty slogan by the anti-Marcos whose only desire is to reconcile with their kind.

Truth is, we have a wretched, damaged, poisoned, biased and one-sided kind of judicial system and it will be the same so long as those who caused it to stink remains in power.

So, where will we go from here? Nowhere. We stay where we are: in a wretched, damaged, poisoned, biased, one-sided and stinking system.
